Rebalancing My Calorie Limit
This week I am down to 161.5 lbs. for a total lost of 31.5 lbs since I started.
This week I also exchanged emails with my coach Barry on the idea that I should lower my calorie count to 8X my body weight now to continue losing at 2+ lbs a week. He was very much against the idea and cautioned me not to do it and stick with my original calorie limit.
His rational was that I needed to learn that a diet is not a short term weight loss program, but a life long way of living so I needed to learn to live at a reasonable calorie limit so I don't yo-yo and go back to my heavy weight once I achieve my goal.
My Diet Smart Plan and Work
The thing that I am getting used to in my return to the workforce is the routine and the comfort that many of my coworkers get from food. It consumes them, they are lost in it. For example, friday, the girl in the cube next to me said "I am having a bad morning, do you want to go grab some lunch?" You see, emotions and food. I went, she ate like a pig that hasn't seen food in years and the entire time ate fast and talked fast. She had no concept of what she was eating, neither in calories or in just pure junk.
Man, I have come a long way.
It's me again!
Wow, I am back to writing! The good news is that in my 3 weeks off, I have lost another 4.5 lbs for a total of 30 lbs. Yep, I am down to 163 lbs!
The biggest change has been the adaptation of the plan into my life. Danny has lost a ton of weight (LOL) and looks great too. the kids are much less crazy from their sugar fits that I was not aware of either. The key was the I had to consider our nutrition and prior to the diet smart plan, I didn't and it really does impact your life.

Day 105- 25.5 lbs. lost
ok, bacon and eggs for breakfast. yesterday I had outback for dinner. Sounds like I am not a diet, WRONG! the great thing that I really like is that is just a few simple choices everyday and not being silly. Mainly, I quit listening to the other hype from other diets and other weight loss products. It was common sense mixed in a great package.
Another 1/2 lb. today, I am really on a roll! oh, last night I had the 9 oz. sirloin steamed vegetables and a small salad. Skipped the bread and appetizers, so I made it fit into my plan. By the way, another beauty of the diet smart plan is that when you lose enough weight, it is really easy to fit under your daily calorie counts, I can't eat up to my calorie limit and when I do, well, I still lose weight.
Everyone, I have now lost 25 lbs!!
The scale this morning read another magic number, 168. I did a happy dance and then called Danny to come in and verify that I was not dreaming. It is tremendous, I have lost 25 lbs! I see that what I did is not that common compared to the other blogs and journals that I have seen.
I really think that diet smart was the right way to go, it was much easier than I thought. things have been very busy so I have to keep moving and I don't have time to really write anymore, I will write a few postings this week on what I am eating now, but I am looking forward to 165!
Day 97 and 170 lbs!
Go ME!!!! Yeah, I did it! the scale read that beautiful 170 this morning. It is waffles and champagne for breakfast! I am so stoked! can you believe it, me, 170 lbs! I was almost 200 lbs only 3 months ago! I will have to write my coach, he has been on me for the past couple of weeks to quit eating so many carbs but I crave sweets. Who cares today, I want waffles and I am 170 lbs. Next goal, a total weight loss of 25 lbs!
WHY HAS NO ONE EVER HEARD OF THIS? This is insane, I can't believe how good this plan is and no one knows about it, oh well, it is my little secret.
I see my next milestone!
I am within a lb. of 170! that is insane, I am really proud of myself, I did it. Ok, I admit that I had some help along the way, but I am going to be under 170 lbs for the first time in years, I mean a number of years. 23 lbs. lost, that is a toddler!
No one has heard of the diet smart plan at work, but they notice my results and then try to recruit me for weight watchers. I said no but I would like someone who was on the plan to communicate with, not a coach, but someone to share with. Nicky is the closest thing, but she is done so everything is in the past for her. She is such an inspiration, I hate her!!
I have to be very good in my food diary or I get a rather blunt email from my coach letting me know that "I know better", and he is right, I do. The Diet Smart Plan keeps you on your toes, and maybe that is why I am doing so well, I have never really lost weight until now, and today I was at 172, down another lb!
I didn't turn in a food diary for a couple of weeks and I got it, both barrels. What is interesting is that then was when I didn't lose as much weight as the other times when I was sending in my food diary and getting the feedback. More incredibly, I now snack twice a day w
Now that the big 20 has been achieved, I look forward to getting to 170 and then a size 8. I am working hard to stick to the plan. At first I wasn't really sure, but I am in the swing of things and have it down very well.
There is a new weight watchers group at the office. It is a joke, no one is sticking to the plan and they are in the second week. They spent $170 for the service and I haven't seen them do well. Michelle is out of her mind, she cheats every chance she gets. I really hope that they do not ever discover my blog, because I am going to make fun of them!
