eDiets Week 13 Day 1 - One Day I Felt Like Running...So I Did
After a weekend of some working out, but also of pizza and chinese food, I thought it was time to get back on the horse today. To change it up a bit, I went outside to run as opposed to my normal inside the gym on the elyptical machine type cardio workout. It was relatively cool outside today, only about 90+ degrees at 1pm, but that is pretty good for Texas where it can be 100+ degrees on a regular basis. The run was pretty fun. I feel like the workout went well and I know I sweat off a half pound to take me down to 176.5.
The office area I work in has nice fountains and landscaping that is not too bad to run through once in awhile. This past weekend, I led off my softball game with a homerun, but I don't think I stretched out well enough because my knee was stiff all weekend. Today's run was as much about losening up my knee as anything else and it seems to have done the trick.
Tonight I hope to workout a second time with my girlfriend by doing some fun activity (ie not lifting weights or running on a treadmill). If I add in a healthy dinner tonight, then I will probably lose another .25 pound or so tonight. Lets see if I can get another streak of positive momentum going to lose some more weight.
Since I found success in giving myself a halfway target with a reward at the end, I have decided to break the second half of my weight loss into 2 targets to give myself some short term goals. My weight today is 176.5, but I was down to 175 a couple weeks ago. My end target is 167, so I have 8 pounds plus 1.5 pounds that gained back to lose overall. My next "reward" target is now 171, or four pounds less than 175. When I hit the 175 point last time, I bought myself some new dress clothes. The running shoes may be my reward for my next target.
